IYA Linux: A Linux operating system built for infrastructure efficiency

Run the same workloads with fewer resources and lower infrastructure costs.

IYA Linux is a purpose-built Linux operating system engineered to improve infrastructure efficiency while maintaining the performance your applications require.

What is IYA Linux?

A Linux operating system rebuilt and rethought for infrastructure efficiency.

IYA Linux is a purpose-built Linux operating system designed to improve the efficiency of the operating layer while maintaining the performance your applications require.

It is built independently rather than derived from another Linux distribution, with a leaner software footprint, controlled dependencies and a server-focused system design.

The objective is simple: reduce operating-system overhead so more of your infrastructure resources are available to the applications and workloads that actually create value.

In plain words Your applications do the work. The operating system should get out of their way. |

A layered architecture

Layer 1 / 4

Business applications

Your existing applications and workloads - web servers, e-commerce, CRM, ERP, databases and more - run on top with minimal change.

How IYA Linux saves you money

The savings come from reducing the infrastructure required to support the workload – not from reducing workload demand.

Run on fewer resources

A more efficient operating system can reduce the vCPU, memory and storage required for suitable workloads.

Increase infrastructure efficiency

Run more workload on the resources you already have and improve utilization of existing infrastructure.

Defer infrastructure investment (CAPEX)

Higher efficiency can delay hardware refresh cycles and reduce future server, rack, power and cooling requirements.

Lower recurring costs

Smaller cloud or infrastructure resources translate into lower recurring OPEX and more budget for what matters.

Same workload. Fewer resources. Lower infrastructure cost.

LEANER BY DESIGN. PRACTICAL BY NATURE.

IYA Linux is rebuilt from scratch for enterprise servers: lower complexity, so fewer security risks and less maintenance.

Simpler to operate

A focused package set and reduced dependency complexity help simplify installation, maintenance and remote administration.
No clutter: only professional applications.

Improved security posture

Fewer unnecessary packages and services help reduce the attack surface, while additional hardening measures strengthen protection of the operating environment.

Broad compatibility

Built from the same upstream open-source software, without proprietary layers, IYA Linux stays familiar to manage.
Services can run in parallel without overlap for easier migration or rollback.

Lighter administration

A more structured system organization helps isolate applications and simplify day-to-day administration, troubleshooting and maintenance.

Lower resource consumption

A leaner operating environment reduces unnecessary CPU, memory and storage usage, leaving more resources available to applications and workloads.

An independent alternative

IYA Linux is rebuilt from source, making it a credible, independent and free alternative to the major Linux market players.

PERFORMANCE EVIDENCE

Controlled benchmarks show how OS-level efficiency can translate into measurable gains on the same infrastructure.

Methodology

Same VM, same applications, different OS.

Tests are performed under controlled conditions to ensure a fair comparison. Only stable and consistent results are retained.

AWS t3a.large VM: 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM

Tools: JMeter, Apache Bench, PyPerformance, Go “Benchmark” package.

Applications: Go 1.24.11, NGINX 1.23.4, PHP 8.4.12, Python 3.11.2, MySQL 8.4.9, Java 17.

Compatibility and use cases

IYA Linux supports a broad range of mainstream server workloads across cloud, on-premise and hosting environments.

Cloud workloads

Web applications, APIs, application servers, databases, middleware.

On-premise infrastructure

Enterprise servers, private cloud, virtualised environments.
